Alessandro Serena

Since his childhood, he has experimented with different art forms, including sculpture, painting, graphic design, etching, and linocut. Alessandro Serena also has designed and built life-size nativity scenes for his town's community and designed mosaics, commissioned by his father Gino Serena, born in Murano, who was a board member of the International School of Mosaic and founder of I.R.M.A. (Decorative Artistic Mosaics Company).
Alessandro Serena has taught drawing and technology in professional high schools. Between 1981 and 1983, he opened and managed an art gallery, also organizing exhibits abroad.
During the 1990s, he designed and made jewlery in bas-relief, stiacciato, and in the round using lost wax casting technique. He also designed and signed a series of sterling silver high reliefs on Murano glass amphorae for the prestigious Bisazza Company.
In 2010, Serena organized a national conference on the topic of “Art and Architecture: Languages of Faith” and continues to organize and manage art exhibits.
He currently designs and creates mosaic floors, mosaics for wall decor, and sculptures, constantly seeking new ways to combine mosaic and decorative furniture accessories.
